Features and Applications

Applications: MTT is a thiazole heterocyclic compound. The compound contains active sulfur atoms, which can crosslink halogen-containing polymer materials, and is especially suitable for chloroprene rubber. When used together with metal oxides such as zinc oxide, magnesium oxide or lead oxide during the vulcanization of chloroprene rubber, it can achieve a high degree of crosslinking in a short time. The scorch time of the compounded rubber containing MTT varies depending on the filler used. If you need to delay the scorch time, you can increase the dosage of magnesium oxide or other fillers. It can be activated by thiuram or dithiocarbamate accelerators. Due to its low melting point, MTT has excellent dispersibility in chloroprene rubber compound. At the same time, as an ultra-efficient accelerator, MTT can be added together with zinc oxide in the final stage of internal mixing. It is suitable for CR-based rubber parts produced via injection molding or extrusion: such as rubber hoses, sealing strips, cable sheaths or insulating layers, V-belts, rubber boots, wipers, etc. It is a substitute for the thiourea-based accelerator ETU and is an environmentally friendly accelerator.
Dosage:
In chloroprene rubber (100 parts of rubber):
4 parts of magnesium oxide or 5 parts of zinc oxide or 20 parts of lead oxide; 0.4-1.5 parts of MTT
In compounded rubber with low rubber content or compounded rubber added with light-colored fillers:
For best mechanical processing properties: 0.5-1.0 parts of MTT + 0.2-1.0 parts of sulfur
For continuous vulcanization: 0.8-1.5 parts of MTT
